Measurement of the rigidity coefficient of a surfactant layer and structure of the oil or water microemulsion interface

چکیده

2014 We first deduce the rigidity coefficient K of a surfactant monolayer at the oil water interface from ellipsometric measurements. For our surfactant monolayer containing alcohol, we find unusually small values of K (K ~ kB T). We then study the oil microemulsion and water microemulsion interfaces, covered with the same film. On the microemulsion side of the film we find a perturbed zone, the thickness of which is comparable with the size of the structure in the bulk. The experimental results suggest that at ultralow surface tension, the recently proposed picture of an open interface, is quite valid. J. Preparation and Characterization of Cyanocobalamin (Vit B12) Microemulsion Properties and Structure for Topical and Transdermal Application

Objective(s): The objective of this study was to design a topical microemulsion of Vit B12 and to study the correlation between internal structure and physicochemical properties of the microemulsions. Microemulsions are thermodynamically stable mixtures of water, oil, surfactants and usually cosurfactants with several advantages for topical and transdermal drug delivery. The formul...

بررسی تاثیر میکروامولسیون خوراکی روغن کنجد و عسل بر سپسیس کاندیدیایی موش صحرایی

Background: Sesame oil has anti-candidiasis therapeutic effects. Due to hydrophobic property of oils, their solubility in aqueous media is low which causes their low absorption and impact on the reduction of microbe compactness in the body. The aim of the present study was preparation of a mixture containing sesame oil and honey based on microemulsion form. Materials and Methods: An experimenta...

Physico-chemical evaluation of a biocompatible microemulsion system containing IPM/Tween80/Isobutanol

A biocompatible microemulsion system comprising of isopropyl myristate (IPM) as oil, tween 80 as a non-ionic surfactant and isobuthanol as co-surfactant was studied experimentally at 298.15 K. The pseudo-ternary phase diagram for the microemulsion system has been delineated at different surfactant to co-surfactant mass ratio of 1:1, 2.4:1 and 4:1. Some physico-chemical properties such as densit...

Preparation and Evaluation of Aceclofenac Topical Microemulsion

A topical preparation containing aceclofenac was developed using an o/w microemulsion system. Isopropyl myristate was chosen as the oil phase as it showed a good solubilising capacity. Pseudo-ternary phase diagrams were used to obtain the concentration ranges of the oil, surfactant (Labrasol) and co-surfactant (plurol oleique) for microemulsion formation. Five different formulations were formul...
